Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Limited based in Birmingham, is the sole UK manufacturer and retreader of aircraft tyres, supplying a worldwide customer base comprising of; aircraft constructors, wheel and brake manufacturers, and aircraft operators.

Being very successful in our field with established plans for growth, we currently have the following vacancies:

PRODUCTION/QUALITY ENGINEER

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will join a small team of cross-skilled Production/Quality Engineers.  This additional role is necessary to support our expanding business.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Maintaining the quality management system complying with the requirements of our Industry Standards which are:

ISO 9000/AS9100
EASA Part 21 subpart G
EASA Part 145
FAA CFR Part 145

To assist in the establishment of processes and procedures for new plant and equipment
To develop processes and procedures for existing plant and equipment
To facilitate in continuous improvement activities
Analysis of key performance indicators
Take an active role in new product introduction

YOU WILL NEED TO:

Possess a relevant degree with some working experience
Knowledge/experience of the Aviation Industry preferred, but not imperative
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
Have an enquiring mind who works tenaciously to find solutions and solve problems
Be computer literate including Microsoft Office
Be willing and able to travel and work both in the UK and Internationally

 

MULTI-SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS

INSTRUMENTATION PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER
(Both positions contracted for weekday and weekend shifts)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planned and reactive maintenance duties
  • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Plant improvement projects and equipment changeovers
  • Additionally the Instrumentation Engineer will undertake calibration duties required to maintain our process control instrumentation

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL:

  • Be time-served or formally trained Mechanical or Electrical Engineers or Instrumentation Engineers who can demonstrate proven track record within an engineering environment
  • Demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical principals of machinery
  • Have experience of calibration for instrumentation role

MECHANICAL FITTER
(Contracted for weekday and weekend shifts)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Equipment and tooling changeovers
  • Planned and reactive maintenance to maintain moulds and former tooling to required standards
  • Support production operations as required

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL

  • Have undertaken some formal mechanical craft engineering training
  • Be able to demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of bench assembly fitting and mechanical repair processes

 

PROCESS ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To continually strive for equipment and process optimisation, giving  operational standardisation and establishing best practice within the plant

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL

  • Be a qualified manufacturing engineering able to demonstrate a proven track record in the deployment of ‘lean manufacturing’ techniques and equipment process improvement
  • Be quality savvy and fully conversant with modern problem solving tools and techniques
  • Have proven project management skills and a PDCA approach to creating an environment of sustainable process improvement
